The word integration It has its origin in the Latin concept integratĭo. It's about the action and effect of integrating or integrating (constitute a whole, complete a whole with the missing parts or make someone or something become part of a whole).
However, the term at hand is also used in the scientific field. Specifically it is used in Mathematics to refer to the sum that is carried out of infinite addends. As an integral, this basic concept is also called within the calculation sector, which has an ancient origin since it was already used by Archimedes. And after him did other figures such as Isaac Newton or Leibniz.
The social integration For its part, it is a dynamic and multifactorial process that assumes that people who are in different social groups (whether for economic, cultural, religious or national reasons) meet under the same objective or precept .
In this way, social integration can occur within a certain country , when it is sought that people that belong to the lower social strata manage to improve their standard of living. For this, the State o Civil institutions should promote policies and actions to promote personal and social autonomy skills, occupational insertion, education and adequate food.
Also, in addition to social integration, we can also talk about what is known as racial integration. With it, what is basically pursued is that there is a real equality between people regardless of race and that a culture develops where there is the necessary tolerance so that all cultures have a place and are respected, among other objectives.
On the other hand, integration can be sought by different countries, to enhance the capacity of each nation and, in joint work, improve the situation of all inhabitants. An example of political and economic integration is the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) , formed by Argentina , Brazil , Paraguay , Uruguay , Venezuela , Bolivia , Chile , Colombia , Ecuador and Peru (although with different types of membership).
Among the fundamental elements that must exist to support and encourage the aforementioned economic integration are the economic and monetary union, the common market, the free trade zone or the preferential trade zone.
Also within the framework of that continent there is what is known as Latin American integration. A term with which the whole set of actions, of different typology, is defined and encompassed, with which what is sought is to unite the countries of Latin America always respecting the essence and hallmarks of each of they.
To achieve all this, there are several supranational organizations and endless actions are carried out both politically and economically, culturally or socially.
In all cases, integration always involves coordinated effort, joint planning and peaceful coexistence between the sectors that make up the group . That is the only way where the parties can constitute a whole, even without losing their individuality.
